Five Cozumel beaches reopen
Five beaches around the island of Cozumel have been opened with the
region’s change of epidemiological light. Mayor Pedro Joaquín Delbouis
announced that as of September 8, island residents will be able to
again, use beaches.
Héctor Mac Marín, Director of Civil Protection, reported that Playas
Casitas, Caletita, Las Rocas, Chen Río and San Martín are the five open
beaches. He said “we ask Cozumeleños going to enjoy the sea in the
designated areas, to keep a distance of approximately two meters per
person in order to respect the maximum capacity of 60 percent, which has
been established according to the yellow epidemiological light.”
The open beaches are marked with signs and a maximum capacity. He
added that beachgoers will be monitored for compliance, ensuring that

October 3, 2020 a new edition of the Triathlon Circuit, where you can
swim in the turquoise waters that connect with the warm Caribbean Sea
and then cycle and run enjoying incredible landscapes throughout the
tour.

Young people from 14 to 70 and older can participate in the triathlon, making it an ideal event for everyone. If
you are a beginner, you can choose to participate in the Sprint mode,
and if you are a woman who wants to do a triathlon, you can choose the
"Just Newbies" mode.

Public transportation will resume on the island of
Cozumel as of October 1, starting with three daily routes. Marco
González Anguas, director or municipal transportation announced that
they will resume public transportation service due to the update of the
yellow epidemiological light. He stated that between municipal authorities and the concession
companies, a determination was made to reactivate the service with three
daily routes from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. González Anguas explained that
the service will be shuffled. One day, he says, the service will be
offered by Unión de Permisionarios (Uniper) and the other, by Sindicato
de Taxistas.
He noted that all health protocols will be in place for public
transport users and drivers to avoid coronavirus contagion, adding that
